A Personal Note About our Owner & Business Structure
Hi, I am Kyler Thau. I was born and raised in the Chico area. I am a young adult with the work ethic of a seasoned veteran. I have been blessed with the natural gift of strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to be a very hard worker. I have been operating large equipment since a very young age. I have a background in Ag and I have worked full-time since I was 17 years old.
I started my own business at the age of 21 and 2 years later expanded to create Fire Safe NorCal after seeing the need in our community for clearing land of fuels that can be burned or have already burned in a wildfire. I have always enjoyed operating equipment and grew up riding around on anything that had a motor. That lead me to racing off-road and securing 5-National titles racing ATV's. I am a county-boy at heart that enjoys all things outdoors. In my free time, you can find me riding quads or motorcycles, snowmobiling, snowboarding or at the lake or nearby creeks fishing.
I cherish spending time with my small but growing family—my fiancé Lauren, our new baby boy born summer of 2024, and our three big dogs keep us busy! My amazing parents have been instrumental in helping me operate Fire Safe NorCal. I grew up in a firefighting family; my dad recently retired as a Fire Captain after nearly 30 years of service with Chico Fire Department. He’s hands-on as my operations manager, ensuring our customers meet fire safety codes, helping with bids and managing field operations. My mom, who runs several other businesses in Chico, keeps the administrative management side of things in check. And of course, Lauren, with her great customer service skills, helps us stay organized and keeps our schedule running smoothly. Our customers will likely speak to each of us during the course of your project!
